Amir khan (born 8 December 1986) is a British professional boxer. He is a former unified light-welterweight world champion, having held the WBA (later Super) title from 2009 to 2012, and the IBF title in 2011. He held the Commonwealth lightweight title from 2007 to 2008, the WBC Silver welter weight title from 2014 to 2016, and challenged once for a middleweight world title in 2016.
As an amateur, Khan won a silver medal in the lightweight division at the 2004 Olympics, becoming Britain’s youngest boxing Olympic medalist at the age of 17. He is also one of the youngest ever British professional world champions, winning the WBA title at the age of 22. In 2007, he was named ESPN prospect of the year. In July 2011, the International Business Times ranked Khan as the world’s 8th best active boxer, pound for pound, while Box Rec ranked him 13th best, pound for pound, in April 2016.
Outside of boxing, he has worked as a philanthropist and mixed martial arts promoter. Between 19 November 2017 and 8 December 2017, Khan competed in the seventeenth series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, which aired on ITV.
Amir was married with Staten Island, NY based Pakistani-American student, Faryal Makhdoom. They got married in May of 2013 at Waldorf Astoria in New York City and on 23rd May, 2014 they became parents of an adorable daughter Lamaisah Khan. Faryal is a model and YouTube blogger. On 4th August, 2017 Amir announced that he and Faryal are agreed on separation. They are now living separate and Faryal is expecting her second child.
